Kristin Reed is an Assistant Professor in the Focused Inquiry program at VCU. She came to VCU from Indiana University, where she completed her doctorate in Comparative Literature in 2009. Her research interests focus on poetry, text and the visual arts, and on the role of the academy in public life.

Dr. Reed has a particular interest in non-traditional students and learning environments, especially in working with student veterans and ex-offenders. This year, in addition to her interdisciplinary seminars, Dr. Reedbrings a new course in poetry and writing to the OPEN MINDS program.
